Explanation of Roof Work & Additional Phase I
- The roof and additional components to the roof- a crucial part of its structure, is deteriorating and needs immediate replacement, estimated at $70,000. We aim to replace the slate with a material that is resembling the original slate as much as possible, which will also last for decades. Any funds contributed over the cost of the roof will be used to enhance and weatherproof the Chapel's safety and exterior and additional Phases of the project; such as repairing/restoring broken windows and improving/weatherproofing the structure, and tuckpointing the masonry.
Due Diligence, Funding, Data Gathering, & Other
- Registration for National and State Historic Buildings Registry- Requirements, Application Completion & Preservationist engagement on project.
- Review of Building Assessment Report & Develop Total Scope of Work; Architectural/Structural Plan Development; engagement from local community as well as academic community for involvement and learning opportunity.
- Explore additional total restoration proposals & funding options- including grants, gifts & community funding.
